Feeding the Ravenous Riders of Leyland!

The Jack's Ovens team enjoyed a lovely day out, after being invited to provide private catering at the Leyland and District Riding Club. It was a bit of a last-minute request and so we didn't have much time to prepare but the innate flexibility, dedication and skill of our team were put to good use and so we were able to save the day and ensure that visitors to the club's event didn't go hungry!

The riding club put on an event in which various horses and their riders had the chance to strut their stuff in a number of exciting gymkhana games; these games had a royal theme in honour of the coronation of King Charles III and included Royal Mail, A Royal Toast and Crown the King. The event also included the qualifying rounds for upcoming showjumping championships.

Underneath clear blue skies and stunning sunshine, guests at the event soon worked up an appetite: that's those guests who hadn't arrived with one in the first place! Our signature bacon and sausage barms were a big hit for the early birds, who washed their treats down with gallons of fresh tea and coffee.

As the day progressed, we switched to our luscious lunch menu, with our brilliant burgers and cajun chicken wraps being among the favourite options. We also offered a kids' meal deal which proved extremely popular; the meal consisted of a tasty hot dog and a delicious drink, with a toy thrown in to sweeten the deal. Not that it wasn't sweet enough already at the cost-busting price of just a fiver!

After sampling these savoury delights, guests at the event wanted some tasty treats. We had come fully prepared for this inevitable eventuality, bearing with us plenty of bangin' brownies from Finch Bakery. If you haven't heard of Finch Bakery before then you are seriously missing out! Check out THIS blog article for all the delectable details...

At the end of the day and after having asked guests for feedback on our catering, the event organisers gave us their seal of approval, inviting us back again at a future date. We're rightly proud of this and it makes all of our hard work worth it!

Check out the Jack's Ovens website for details of our bespoke private catering service, along with sample breakfast and lunch menus.
